You want your MTV?

Remember when MTV used to play music? Apparently they don't.

MTV recently removed "Music Television" from its corporate logo, signaling what we already knew - the company has evolved from a channel that exclusively showcased music videos into a reality show extravaganza.

MTV solidified its reputation in the early 80s with the help of music superstars like Michael Jackson and Madonna who famously cried, "I want my MTV!"

Fast-forward 29 years later and the network's new reigning queen is Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, from the hit show "Jersey Shore."

MTV said viewers have moved beyond what the old logo suggested.

"The people who watch it today, they don't refer to MTV as music television," MTV's head of marketing, Tina Exarhos, said last week in an interview."Now felt like the right time. It felt like, 'Why have we been so scared when the channel itself has evolved so much over the years?'"

Even though the updated logo was clearly a long time coming, the college generation still grew up with the infamous channel.
