Former player and assistant Gerson Echeverry takes top position
Seton Hall has named Gerson Echeverry as the new men's soccer coach as announced by Athletic Director Patrick Lyons on Monday. He replaces Manfred Schellscheidt who held the position for 24 years before stepping down from the position in November. "After a thorough and extensive search, which included several highly qualified candidates, I am very pleased to welcome Gerson back to Seton Hall," Lyons said.

Men's soccer team finishes season in bottom of conference
The men's soccer team ended their season on Tuesday afternoon with a 4-0 loss at No. 19 Notre Dame. The Pirates concluded the season with an overall record of 5-11-2, a two win increase from the previous season. The team could not improve their Big East win total though, as they only won one conference game with no ties for the second straight season.

Women's soccer ends successful year
The Pirates finished the 2011 season with their best record since 2008, finishing 9-8-3 overall and 4-6-1 in the Big East, and making their first Big East Tournament since 2006. The Hall also hosted their first round match in the conference tournament for the first time since 1999 in the process.
