Jordan Theodore to play in Beko Turkish Basketball League

After not hearing his name called on June 28 in the NBA Draft, former men’s basketball player Jordan Theodore signed a professional contract with Antalya BSB of the Beko Turkish Basketball League in Turkey.  

NBA All-Star Deron Williams of the Brooklyn Nets and former NBA All-Star Allen Iverson played in the Beko Turkish Basketball League. 

“I’m incredibly proud of Jordan in realizing his dream of becoming a professional basketball player,” said Seton Hall Head Coach Kevin Willard.  “Antalya is getting an unquestioned leader and an excellent young point guard with a strong work ethic.  We look forward to watching Jordan as his pro career matures.”

The All-Big East Second Teamer stepped into his role as a senior leader for the Pirates, on his way to ranking ninth in points per game in the conference with 16.1 points per game and dishing out 6.6 assists per game, good for second in the conference. 

Throughout the season, Theodore was named to the Big East’s Weekly honor roll five times on his way to breaking the Seton Hall single-season for assists, which had stood for 49 years. 

As a Pirate, Theodore is one of only four players to score over 1,300 points and record 500 assists in his career. 

Theodore will be the 15th former Pirate to play professionally overseas.  He joins John Allen, Andre Barrett, Donald Copeland, Marcus Cousin, Paul Gause, Duane Jordan, Rimas Kaukenas, Brian Laing, Jamar Nutter, Augustine Okosun, and former teammates John Garcia, Jeremy Hazell, Eniel Polynice and Jeff Robinson.
