A former Seton Hall student was arrested and charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery in relation to Tuesday night's off-campus incident, according to South Orange Police Department Chief Chelel

The suspect, Joseph Fowler, 20, was enrolled in the University this spring but is currently withdrawn, according to authorities.

Chelel identified Fowler as one of three suspects who entered a second-floor Grove Terrace apartment with intent to rob the two victims, according to The Star-Ledger.

The arrest took place on Wednesday morning and Fowler was held in Essex County Jail on $100,000 bail while the other two suspects remain at-large, also according to The Star-Ledger.

The two victims, one 19-year-old and one 20-year-old, had invited the three suspects into the apartment on Tuesday night and an argument ensued, Chelel said on Wednesday.

Both Chelel and Captain Kroll of SOPD said Wednesday that all individuals involved may have known each other and that the incident “was not random.”
