Bradley charged in hit-and-run fatality

Frank Bradley, a Newark native, was charged in a 13-count indictment by an Essex County Grand Jury earlier this week for his involvement in the fatal hit-and-run death of 49-year-old James Walsh last February.

Walsh, the father of a current Seton Hall student, was struck and killed by Bradley's Honda Civic at the intersection of South Orange and Vose Avenues after he and his daughter left a local restaurant.

The charges upon Bradley include aggravated manslaughter in the first degree, vehicular homicide in the second degree, and leaving the scene of an accident in the second degree. He also stands charges for endangering the safety of his three children who were in his car during the accident.

Bradley's car was found damaged outside his Newark home approximately 45 minutes after the incident by the South Orange Police Department. After being questioned by the police, he was charged with the crime.

Bradley's license was suspended at the time of the incident as well. He is currently being held in the Essex County Jail with his bail at $150,000. According to the Office of the Essex County Prosecutor, first degree aggravated manslaughter itself carries a prison sentence of up to 30 years.
