It was another Big East road loss for Seton Hall’s tennis team on Sunday, as the Pirates fell to 7-8 (1-2) after losing 7-0 to St. John’s. The score-line stayed unchanged for the next match, which saw Pirate senior Hannah Liljekvist and sophomore Luize Strike fall 6-0. Seton Hall freshman Anicka Fajnorova and senior Isabell Klingert put up the closest fight in doubles, but ultimately lost 6-3. Singles play treated the Hall no better. Hannah Liljekvist began the proceedings, but could not come up with much against Red Storm junior Anna Morozova, losing 6-1 and 6-2. With the win, Morozova improved to 24-5 on the season and all but sealed the Blue and White’s fate on the day. St. John’s then clinched the victory when SHU’s Fajnorova lost 7-5 and 6-2 in the second singles match. The Pirates will take another swing at the Big East when they travel to Rhode Island next weekend. There they will take on DePaul on Saturday, April 16 and Providence on Sunday, April 17.
