What to do on V-Day

If your plans for Valentine’s Day are subpar, don’t worry because there are ways to have fun with or without a special someone. Here are a few suggestions:

One of the most highly anticipated movies in 2015, “Fifty Shades of Grey,” is premiering on Feb. 14. If you’re looking for something to do that day, grab a couple of friends, take the SHUFLY into town and catch the movie.

If you want to grab something to eat or just dessert, you can go with a group of friends to the Village Diner or maybe even grab some ice cream at Coldstone.

Feeling adventurous? You could take a train into the city and do some sightseeing. There are plenty of fun things to do in the city like visiting museums and going to restaurants.

One sure fire way to make the day special is to make it about your friends. You can buy Valentine’s Day cards with some sort of candy at the local Rite Aid. It will be a great way to show your friends how much they really do mean to you.

“Since I don’t have a Valentine my friends and I were planning on going to New York to just hang out,” said DeAnna Bifalco, a sophomore biochemistry major.

For those who do have a Valentine, you can have a romantic dinner in town. There are a variety of places to choose from with a variety of foods as well.

However, if you are on a budget, you can go to the cafeteria and make your Valentine a meal.

You do not need to spend an excessive amount of money to have a good Valentine’s Day. Making chocolate covered strawberries is something fun you can do with your Valentine as well. You can head to Ashley’s Marketplace and buy a pack of strawberries and a pack of chocolate and heat the chocolate up in the microwave. Then you can dip the strawberries in the chocolate.

“I do have a Valentine. Nothing is set yet for plans but I’m going to visit them for the weekend and we’ll probably go out to eat and watch movies on Netflix and exchange gifts,” said Thomas Bufi, a freshman accounting major.
