Bring your tastes to your dorm

In your home away from home, you have photos that remind you of your friends and family and playlists to remind you of summertime memories. You have your significant other’s sweatshirt with his/her signature body spray to snuggle with and your favorite pillow that transports you to your own cozy bedroom.

Your dorm décor appeals to all of the senses that take you back home, at least in your daydreams, except taste that is. Here is a list of ready-bought products to stock your dorm with to remind you of what you left at home.

I. Starbucks Coffee Packets: Be your own barista in the comfort of your own room with Starbucks Coffee Packets, both hot and iced, in assorted flavors and roasts.

II. Panera Microwaveable Soup: You don’t need to be a Panera employee or master chef to recreate your favorite café lunches. All you have to do is operate a microwave with the selection of your favorite soup.

III. Betty Crocker Warm Delights: Without an oven or an hour to spare, Betty Crocker Warm Delights are the perfect snack to satisfy your sweet cravings. You can enjoy warm molten chocolate cake, hot fudge brownies and more.

IV. Ben & Jerry’s Minis: Summer may be over, but the refreshing summer treats don’t have to end. Small enough to fit in your dorm-sized freezer and the perfect serving to satisfy your sweet tooth, Ben & Jerry’s minis come in many flavors.

And to take you even further back to your childhood, you can purchase these fun snacks.

V. Uncrustables Peanut Butter and Jelly: Peanut butter and jelly just the way your mom makes it…enough said.

VI. Velveeta Macaroni & Cheese: The food that is socially acceptable to eat at any time in the University world, Velveeta mac & cheese is easy to make. The biggest challenge: waiting for it to cool before you devour it.

VII. Swiss Miss Marshmallow Madness: The rainbow marshmallows scream fun and the chocolaty goodness is perfect to enjoy in the wake of a snowstorm.

Sophomore Ansh Balar said it means a lot to have meals that remind him of home while at school.

"We all need a sense of home in college to remind ourselves of our culture and to remind us of our roots," Balar said. "And why not eat what you love."
