Keynote speaker chosen for graduation

Is food the “new sex?” Is Eminem “right”?

Mary Tedeschi Ebersadt, author and this year’s commencement keynote speaker, wrote essays that answer those questions and more.

Eberstadt has written several books in the fields of philosophy, religion and American culture, according to an announcement sent by the University.

She served as a senior fellow of the Ethics and Public Policy Center. Her two most recent books are “How the West Really Lost God: A New Theory of Secularization” and “Adam and Eve after the Pill: Paradoxes of the Sexual Revolution.”

In her career, Eberstadt has written for national magazines and newspapers, according to the announcement. Her background involves time as a research fellow at the Hoover Institution, executive editor of National Interest magazine, among other accomplishments in the U.S. State Department.
