Jason Mraz tour makes up for recent album flop

Jason Mraz's recent album "Love is a Four Letter Word" did not receive the best review from the Setonian, criticizing its repetition in sound and style. His recent tour, "Tour is a Four Letter word" proved both impressive and colorful.

The 33-year-old singer-songwriter covered songs from several albums welcoming his band to be fully engaged with both him and the audience. Mraz provided an enjoyable and exciting atmosphere for fans.

Senior Christopher Cashdan said that the show was amazing.

"It was the best concert I've been too," Cashdan said.

The concert, which was held at PNC Bank Arts Center featured Christina Perry as the opening act and while she played for just a half-an-hour, Mraz played on for two-and-a-half hours. Mraz stayed true to himself, mixing the sounds among folk, jazz, rock and reggae. Those sounds allowed Mraz to venture from his music onto others such as Bob Marley.

The relaxed environment highlighted his stronger, more popular songs while also covering tracks that many in the crowd were unfamiliar with.

Mraz's recent album followed a similar theme, celebrating all kinds of love. The concert in no way lacked that. Crowd members enjoyed the atmosphere and Mraz even entertained some "wedding song" requests from fans in the front.

Aside from the impressive vocal abilities that Mraz brought to the table, the production of the entire show was perfect.

The lights and sound were seamlessly incorporated into Mraz's performance showing the skills of the production department.

While this performance was one of the last of this tour, Mraz tours often. Avid fan or not, Mraz is absolutely worth seeing live and does not disappoint.

The Setonian gives this concert 5 out of 5 stars.
