Strategic plan calls for new student center

Plans are being made to renovate the Bishop Dougherty University Center, the University announced Tuesday.

The strategic plan, "Strength to Strength," was approved by the Seton Hall University Board of Regents in addition to calling for Seton Hall to become a top-100 national and top-10 Catholic university.

The plan makers decided that facilities renewal and administrative efficiency are top priorities, according to an email from the President's Office.

The design and construction of a new university center will become part of a major organizational and management focus, according to the email.

Dennis Garbini, vice president for finance and technology, will lead efforts in the remodeling of the university center.

The University's website states that "Strength to Strength" is a six-step plan to advance the school's mission to the year 2020.

Garbini did not return request for comment by press time.
