Dean to step down after 11 years

The dean of the College of Education and Human Services will take a leave of absence at the end of this academic year, according to a broadcast email sent by the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President.

Dr. Joseph DePierro, after stepping down as dean, will take a sabbatical and then return to the faculty in the College of Education and Human Services, the email said.

According to the email DePierro has been on staff since 1970 and has served in several positions. DePierro was the dean for 11 years.

Dr. Larry A. Robinson, provost and executive vice president, said his office will organize a search committee for a new dean commencing immediately.
