Seton Hall employee robbed near Wilden Gate

Update: 8:04 a.m.: According to a follow-up email sent by Public Safety and Security, the employee was robbed by a black man in his 20's who was about 5 foot 8. The man approached the employee from the front, "punched her in the arm and took her purse," according to the email. The suspect than fled towards the Ivy Hill apartments, the email said.

A female contract Seton Hall employee was the victim of an armed robbery near the Wilden Place gate at approximately 6:30 this morning, according to a PirateAlert message sent to students around 7:45 a.m.

According to the alert, the "strong armed robbery" took place near 421 Wilden Place.

Police are investigating the robbery, and students were instructed to avoid the area, the alert said.

The alert said more information would follow in an email.
