Alumni create media strategies company

Seton Hall has recognized two Seton Hall alumni for their achievements with their company, Framework Media Strategies.

Class of 2009 graduates Jeremiah Sullivan and Peter Kelly created Framework Media Strategies after the realization that in today's economy, jobs are hard to come by after graduation. .

Framework Media Strategies, based in Woodbridge N.J., offers social media creation and management, public and media relations and creative design services to small businesses, non-profit organizations and musicians and bands.

The idea for the company came when both Sullivan and Kelly saw the difficult and often discouraging process of job-hunting that their colleagues were experiencing.

"Pete and I were determined to beat the odds because we knew we had the skills it took to be successful professionals," Sullivan said. "What was lacking was the opportunity."

As a result, the two started meeting and discussing ideas which eventually lead to the creation of Framework Media Strategies.

Kelly said the company helps clients with traditional techniques to reach out to the public including "print and broadcast media, along with advancing new media tools like social networks and micro blogs to aid their public relations, marketing and promotional initiatives."

Sullivan and Kelly said they set themselves apart from other companies by sticking firmly to their beliefs on what services they offer and how they like to work with clients.

"We're still young and continue to evaluate…to step back, look from afar at everything and see where we want to go with it," Sullivan said. "But, I can say that we are very committed to staying ahead of the curve and continuing to educate ourselves"

Recently, Framework Media Strategies worked with the management board at Seton Hall's award-winning radio station, WSOU, to create the station's 25 years of metal logo.

Sullivan and Kelly said they were honored to be recognized by Seton Hall for their efforts, and were featured on the Seton Hall website.

Kelly said that Seton Hall gave him the skills to be successful with public relations, and those skills are "vital to the life of a business, brand, musician and anyone looking to be noticed in the business world."

"Do not be afraid of failure or financial woes, this fear will prevent you from even getting off the ground. Kelly said. "Believe what you have is valuable and if you put yourself behind it 100 percent then it is sure to be successful."
