Quality of water to be addressed at public meeting

The Village President and Board of Trustees of South Orange announced on June 8 that a public meeting will be held on June 16 to address a report on the quality of the water supply in South Orange, according to a press release.

According to the release, sent by John Gross, a recent report states there is an elevated level of a "certain volatile organic compound" in the water supplied to South Orange by the East Orange Water Commission.

The Board of Trustees, along with representatives of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and Department of Health and Senior Services will be present at the meeting to address questions of the public in regards to health and quality of water.

The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Village Hall in the second floor Trustee meeting room, as stated by the release.
