Arrest made in March armed robbery of Hall students

The South Orange Police Department has announced an arrest in connection with the March 31 robbery of two Seton Hall Students that occurred on Wilden Place in South Orange, according to an email from Patrick Linfante, assistant vice president and director of Public Safety and Security.

Tywan Silvers, 23, of Newark was arrested for the armed robbery of the two students that occurred at 11:55 p.m. that evening, Linfante said.

Silvers was taken into custody without incident. According to Linfante, he is being charged with armed robbery, conspiracy, possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes.

"The police stated that forensic evidence led to his arrest," Linfante said.

South Orange police have not made a second arrest in the case, but Linfante said they anticipate another one shortly.

Silvers resided at 44 Palm St. in Newark, according to Linfante.
