Hazell receives Big East honors

Following wins against No. 9 Syracuse and Providence, senior guard Jeremy Hazell was named to this week's Big East Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.

Seton Hall pulled the upset against the Orange on Jan. 25 in which Hazell led the way in scoring with 28 points. He also recorded four steals and grabbed a season-high nine rebounds in the game.

On Sunday against the Friars, Hazell's statistics dropped in going 3-for-12 from the field and 0-for-7 from the three point line. He contributed in pulling down four rebounds tallying a career-high six assists against the Friars.

Hazell missed 13 straight games due to the broken wrist he suffered in mid-November and was averaging 24 points per game prior to the injury. He returned to action on Jan. 12 when the Pirates played DePaul on the road and is now putting up an average of 19.1 points per game.

Seton Hall travels to West Virginia on Feb. 2 to face the No. 25 Mountaineers in pursuit of their fifth conference victory.
