Reports: Pope resting at home

UPDATE: Since his release from St. Barnabas Medical Center, Pope has been seen on the Seton Hall campus several times by editors of The Setonian. Each time, Pope was dressed in Pirates athletic gear.

Men's basketball player Herb Pope is no longer a patient at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, according to reports by the Associated Press and NJ.com.

Reports last week have confirmed that Pope was discharged from Saint Barnabas on May 23. He is now at his home in Aliquippa, Pa. recuperating from collapsing after an afternoon workout on April 28.

Although university officials have said little about Pope as per student privacy laws, Athletic Director Joe Quinlan has said that Pope plans to return to Seton Hall this summer to continue his education at the university.

However, there was no comment about whether Pope will be playing under Kevin Willard on the basketball court next fall.
