Business dean Boroff steps down

As The Setonian reported online Wednesday, Karen Boroff will be stepping down as the dean of the Stillman School of Business effective June 30.

Boroff said she would be returning to the department of management as a faculty member in a broadcast e-mail sent to students in the business school's Leadership Development Honors Progam Wednesday evening.

Students in the Stillman School of Business were surprised by Boroff's decision to step down.

"I was surprised to hear about it," junior Stephanie Urban said. "I thought she was doing a pretty good job, but I guess she has other plans."

Junior Ryan Garrity did "not know what to say" when approached for comment but had nothing but praise for Boroff.

"I think she is an excellent dean who made her presence known. She is a great ambassador for the business school, she is always at events, there for students to approach and she has given me great advice the three years I have been here. I am sure, as a faculty member, she will continue to be a presence and help students."
